We pick dye plants from the farm at dawn — butterfly pea for indigo, turmeric root for gold, teak and fern for their tannins — taking only what has fallen or needs pruning.
Leaves are laid onto cloth or paper, rolled tight around an iron rod, and steamed for hours. Heat and mordant pull the pigment straight out of the plant and into the fibre.
The bundle is opened to a print no one could have drawn — every vein and edge transferred. We rinse, sun-cure, and finish each piece by hand in small batches.
